Professional packing service & materials

Save time and protect your belongings with expert packing — full home packing, fragile-only packing or just the boxes and materials you need.

Packing Service

Packed properly, arrived perfectly

Quick answer

Our packing service means trained packers wrap and box your belongings using quality materials before moving day. You can choose full packing, fragile-only packing, or simply order boxes and materials.

Packing is the most time-consuming part of any move — and the part where most breakages start. Our team uses the right boxes, double-walled cartons, paper and bubble wrap to keep everything safe in transit.

Every box is clearly labelled by room and contents, which makes unpacking in your new home much faster.

In-depth guide

Packing service guide: how professional packing protects your move

Why use a professional packing service?

Packing is the longest and most tiring part of moving house. A typical family home can take days — sometimes weeks of evenings — to pack properly. It's also where most damage starts: overfilled boxes collapse, plates packed flat crack, and unwrapped furniture scuffs in transit. A professional packing service solves both problems. Our trained packers work quickly, use the right materials for each item and label every box clearly, so your belongings travel safely and unpacking is simple.

The packing materials we use

  • Double-walled removal boxes in small, medium and large sizes — stronger than supermarket boxes and designed to stack.
  • Wardrobe cartons with hanging rails, so clothes go straight from wardrobe to wardrobe.
  • Packing paper for plates, glasses and ornaments, and bubble wrap for extra protection.
  • Mattress and sofa covers to keep upholstery clean and dry.
  • Picture and mirror protection, and TV boxes or padded wrapping for screens.

How we pack a kitchen (the hardest room)

Kitchens hold more fragile items than any other room. We wrap plates individually and stand them on their edges, pack glasses with paper inside and out, and fill every gap so nothing moves. Heavy items such as pans and small appliances go in small boxes at the bottom; light items go on top. Each box is marked with its contents and "this way up" where needed.

Packing tips if you're doing it yourself

  1. Use small boxes for heavy things (books, tins) and large boxes for light things (bedding, cushions).
  2. Never leave empty space in a box — fill gaps with paper, towels or clothing.
  3. Label each box on the side (not the top) with the room and a short list of contents.
  4. Keep screws and fittings in labelled bags taped to the furniture they belong to.
  5. Pack a first-night box: kettle, mugs, toiletries, chargers, bedding, medication and snacks.
  6. Don't pack hazardous items such as paint, fuel, gas bottles or aerosols — we can't transport them.

Packing combined with removals and storage

Most customers book packing together with our house removals or office relocation service, usually the day before moving day. If you're storing belongings, professional packing also protects items for longer periods in storage.

FAQs

Packing Service FAQs

When do you pack?

For most homes we pack the day before moving day. Larger homes may need two days of packing — we'll advise when we quote.

Can I buy boxes without the packing service?

Yes. We can supply removal boxes, tape, paper, bubble wrap and wardrobe cartons on their own.

Do you pack fragile and valuable items?

Yes. China, glassware, mirrors, pictures and electronics are packed with specialist materials. Let us know about particularly valuable items when you book.

Do you offer unpacking?

Yes. We can unpack boxes into your kitchen and rooms and take away the packaging.

How long does professional packing take?

Most one- to three-bedroom homes can be packed in a day by our team. Larger homes, or homes with lots of fragile items, may take longer — we'll advise when we quote.

Can I pack some rooms myself and you do the rest?

Yes. Part packing is popular — many customers ask us to pack the kitchen and fragile items while they pack clothes, books and everyday things.

Do I need to be home while you pack?

It helps if someone is there at the start to explain what's going, what's staying and anything that needs special care.

Are items you pack insured?

Yes. Items packed by our team are covered by our insurance of up to £25,000 during the move.
